Each November, the merchants of Downtown Holland host the annual Holiday Open House, a highly anticipated holiday tradition for both visitors and local residents alike. Stroll the decorated streets filled with holiday carolers, sample a roasted chestnut and shop the day away at stores, boutiques and galleries all featuring unique gift options you won’t find anywhere else. Take a picture with Santa or visit his reindeer at the petting corral. Grab a cup of hot cocoa at a coffee shop and enjoy a mouth-watering meal at a restaurant or pub. The Holiday Open House concludes at 8:00 pm with a tree lighting ceremony and a Christmas carol sing-a-long at the corner of 8th Street and Central Avenue. Attendees will be invited to join our sponsor representatives, City officials and of course, Santa Claus himself, as the official Downtown Holland Christmas tree is illuminated with thousands of sparkling lights.
