Koffie Kletz: Community GardeningSaturday Apr 9 10:00am – 11:00am
1 Lincoln Avenue
Con on down to Windmill Island Gardens to learn about the tradition of community gardening and have the first chance to claim a plot of your own. We’ll explain the Dutch tradition of allotments or ‘volkstuinen’ (people’s gardens) and show how we hope to replicate them here on the Island. Further details and sign-ups for our inaugural community garden, de Gezellige Tuin, will be available at the meeting. No need to bring your klompen or gardening tools…yet!
Koffie Kletz is a series of events at Windmill Island Gardens where we invite community members to learn about topics relevant to Dutch culture, the Holland community and Windmill Island Gardens. each Kletz will feature a new topic with a presentation and discussion time over coffee.
Please reserve your spot as space is limited. While the event is free, we encourage attendees to sign up as a Friend of the Windmill Island Gardens or donate towards the Island’s Endowment Fund.
