Holland celebrates its Dutch heritage with one of America’s favorite festivals—Tulip Time. Beginning the first Saturday in May, the festival boasts over six million tulips and dozens of Dutch attractions and events. Enjoy a huge fireworks display, klompen dancers everywhere you turn, and Dutch delicacies such as Saucijzenbroodjes (pigs in a blanket), Erwtensoep (pea soup), and Speculaasjes (spiced cookies).

Hire a Dutch-costumed Step-on Guide to escort you through over six miles of Tulip Lanes—streets lined with tulips. While you’re downtown, you can explore Holland’s roots at the Holland Museum, Cappon House, and Settlers House; do a little shopping at the Arts and Crafts Fair and the Dutch MarktPlaats; and explore authentic Dutch architecture and magnificent gardens on Windmill Island. While on the Island, tour DeZwaan, the only authentic Dutch windmill operating in the United States.

For even more Dutch splendor, stroll among five million tulips at Veldheer Tulip Gardens, then watch expert craftsmen carve, mold, and paint their wares next door at DeKlomp Wooden Shoe and Delftware Factory. And don’t forget Dutch Village, with over ten acres of authentic Dutch architecture, gardens, shops, eateries and special Tulip Time events.

Get in the spirit with three festive parades: the street-scrubbing Volksparade; the Kinderparade with hundreds of children dressed in Dutch costumes; and the Muziekparade with over 40 marching bands.

Throughout the day and evening, you can choose from a wide variety of entertainment featuring local and national talent in venues large and small.

DUTCH-COSTUMED STEP-ON GUIDES provide friendly, entertaining tours of historic areas, city parks, Hope College, Tulip Lanes and special plantings, and a view of our famous DeZwaan windmill (Three hour minimum).
RESERVED MOTORCOACH PARKING at the Holland Civic Center allows unlimited “in and out” service, and is available Wednesday through Saturday.
GROUP MEALS have been offered for over 50 years at Holland churches, schools, and Hope College.
