About the competition:
Each year a work of art is selected for the official Tulip Time Festival poster. In addition to the poster, the artwork is used on merchandise throughout the festival year. The HAAC administers the Art in Bloom Competition inviting artists in Ottawa, Allegan, Kent, Muskegon and Kalamazoo counties to submit artwork for the poster competition which are then reviewed by a juror.
This year’s juror was Mark Tanis, a Holland creative. Tanis founded the Image Group in 1986, a marketing firm located in Downtown Holland. He continually works to encourage creativity and ingenuity there. Tanis selected the Top 20. The final Tulip Time Festival poster artwork will be selected from this Top 20 by representatives from both Tulip Time and the Holland Area Arts Council.
