Join us Monday, August 14 from 4-7 pm for our Wizard of Oz-themed birthday party celebrating 5 years of the Holland Museum’s Spark!Lab Smithsonian invention space!

Spark!Lab Activities Include:
Flying Monkeys-can you transform our monkeys to flying minions of the wicked witch?
Design shoes that take you home, sequins not required!
Help get Dorothy’s house to the Land of Oz
Design a Home for Toto (his basket is getting uncomfortable)

You can also color a horse of a different color, make your own Emerald City glasses, a witch’s broom goodie bag, take part in a Wizard of Oz gallery scavenger hunt, and join Anne Pott, Children’s Librarian from Herrick District Library as she reads passages from L. Frank Baum’s book, The Wizard of Oz. Come as your favorite Wizard of Oz character for our costume contest, and enjoy photo-ops, door prizes, and of course…cake!

We are excited to have as our special guest, Nyssa Buning, Spark!Lab Network Manager, Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation, National Museum of American History at the Smithsonian.

And while at the museum be sure to check out the “living” Wizard of Oz book in Centennial Park and follow the yellow brick road to see the Oz characters outside the Herrick Library.
