Idlewild Today: A Discussion with Idlewild Residents

Black Eden exhibition Guest Curator, Idlewild resident and historian, Chris CJ Kingdom Grier will lead a panel discussion with current Idlewild residents (names). Together, they will discuss Idlewild’s historical past with stories of music, faith, and community building; its current story of revitalization and growth; and how Idlewild’s residents will continue its rich traditions into the future. Audience members will be able to ask questions after the discussion.
Chris CJ Kingdom-Grier was born and raised in Idlewild and is a descendant of one of the first black owners, Philanthropist Robert & Margaret Riffe. His African American Memorabilia collection, which includes a sizable Idlewild portion, has been describe as Tier 1 Museum quality. Kingdom-Grier is CEO of Kingdom-Grier & Associates Diversity Equity & Inclusion Consulting Firm and is the current Yates Township/ Idlewild Historian & Archivist.
