Generously funded by Hope College’s 2016 Jacob E. Nyenhuis faculty development summer research grant program, The Turner Project is the result of an intensive study of the painting techniques of 19th century British painter J.M.W. Turner. Following ten days in London studying Turner’s paintings, Professor of Art Katherine Sullivan and Art/Psychology major and student collaborator Hannah Jacobs returned to Hope’s campus to apply Turner’s techniques to their respective painting processes. This exhibition is the outcome of that research and process.
