Koffie Kletz: Holland Boys in the Civil War

Saturday Mar 26 10:00am – 11:00am
Windmill Island Gardens
1 Lincoln Avenue

In March, we’ll explore the history of Dutch immigrants and their families at the time of the Civil War. Specifically, we’ll encounter the stories of two Hollanders who served on the Union side during the war. The presenter will be Marten Rustenburg, a local researcher who has presented the topic at the annual conference of the Association for the Advancement of Dutch-American Studies (AADAS).

Koffie Kletz is a series of events at Windmill Island Gardens where we invite community members to learn about topics relevant to Dutch culture, the Holland community and Windmill Island Gardens. Each Kletz will feature a new topic with a presentation and discussion time over coffee.
