I AM Academy and the Holland Museum are excited to bring author Tracee N. Bruce to Holland as part of the city’s Juneteenth celebration. Ms. Bruce will discuss her book, Systems That Shape(d) Black America which takes readers on a journey “through history from Slavery to Modern Day, with 40 mini lessons highlighting defining moments in history that shaped the way Black people currently exist in America.” (www.theetnb.com). Following the talk and Q&A, books will be available for purchase and to be signed by the author.

Tracee N. Bruce is an author, entrepreneur, business professional, consultant, and Black history enthusiast. For over 20 years, she has successfully created and implemented business strategies that positively impacted nonprofit organizations, Fortune 500 corporations, and the federal government. She is a natural lover of history and politics and is a racial equity advocate. Tracee felt compelled to write this book to educate others on the intentional systems used to shape Black America’s current reality. This book is dedicated to honoring her ancestors and future generations. For more information, please visit www.theetnb.com.

This is a family program. While adults of all ages are enjoying the presentation in the Holland Museum’s Spark!Lab Smithsonian space, children can visit the museum’s Education room to enjoy some history and Spark!Lab activities with museum staff and volunteers.
